Bank announces Mayo branch closure

BALLYHAUNIS has been dealt a blow with news that the Ulster Bank is to close its outlet in the town.

The bank has confirmed it is closing 22 branches across the country - with the loss of 220 jobs - later this year.

Many of the branch closure are in rural areas, with Ballyhaunis the only branch to close in Mayo.
