File for DPP following Castlebar arrests

GARDAÍ carried out a major search operation in Castlebar yesterday (Tuesday, March 28). The targeted location was on the outskirts of the town.

The garda operation involved significant manpower, including members of the Armed Support Unit (ASU), officers from the divisional drugs unit, as well as uniformed officers and plainclothes detectives.

Gardaí say a small quantity of what is believed to be cannabis was discovered during a number of searches.

Two people were arrested and questioned in connection with suspected burglarly offences. The suspects were later released.

A file is to be prepared for the DPP.
