Mayo connection to Wales helicopter tragedy is emerging
REPORTS are emerging this evening of a strong north Mayo connection to the helicopter tragedy in Wales.
The bodies of five people were found today with the wreckage of a helicopter that had been missing.
Superintendent Gareth Evans, of North Wales Police, said the details of the victims were not being released by police but specialist officers were supporting their families.
Police have said the five victims are all adults and part of the same extended family from the Milton Keynes area.
It has been confirmed to The Connaught Telegraph that members of the family in question are regular visitors to a north Mayo parish where they have a holiday home and family connections.
No other details are being made available to the media at this time.
