New public house and bistro to open in Castlebar

THE former Sam Adams' public house and bistro at Linenhall Street, Castlebar, is set to reopen within the coming weeks under a new management team.

It is being renamed 'The Yew Tree' with the motto: “See You at the Tree.'

Bistro and bar staff are currently being recruited.

The premises, which traded as 'Buckos' some years ago, has a long association with the local licensing trade and its imminent return business is warmly welcomed.

The news also represents another major boost for the town centre which saw the reopening by the Swift of the former McCarthy's Pub at Bridge Street a number of weeks ago while the McHugh family is also in the process of getting the Welcome Inn Hotel back up and running.
