Passing of much respected Mayo jeweller
THE death has taken place of Eddie Egan, Maryland, Castlebar, one of the county town's best known and most respected businessmen.
The deceased established the very successful Egan Egan Jewellery which trades at Ellison Street in the town.
The late Mr. Egan was always exceptionally courteous and kind in his dealings with the public and news of his passing is widely mourned in the community.
He was a lifelong member of Castlebar Golf Club and generously sponsored competitions over the years. He was predeceased by his wife Geraldine some years ago.
Deepest sympathy is extended to his daughters Susan Molloy (Dundalk) and Therese Lonergan (Athlone), sons Paul and Kevin, sons-in-law Martin and Aidan, daughter-in-law Sinead, brother Aidan (Ballaghaderreen), grandchildren Orla, Aoife, Niamh, Stephen, Meave, Fiona and Ronan, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.
His remains will be reposing at his residence on Tuesday evening from 5.30 p.m. with removal at 7.30 p.m. to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Requiem Mass takes place on Wednesday at 1 p.m. followed by burial in the New Cemetery.
