Mayo family scoops Irish B&B of the Year award
THE champagne corks are popping in a Castlebar B&B today.
Rocksberry, Westport Road, Castlebar, has been named 'Bed and Breakfast of the Year' in the Irish Hospitality Awards 2017.
Run by the John and Bernadette Walsh and family, they were thrilled to overcome strong opposition from all corners of the country to capture the prestigious national title.
John and Mary's only grand-daughter, Clodagh, attended the presentation ceremony with them in Dublin.
Rocksberry is very popular with visitors to the area because of the high standard of service provided and many return on a regular basis.
There were two other Castlebar winners in the competition.
House of Plates, Chapel Street, was named the west region's Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year while Bar One, Rush Street, was the best west Pub/Inn of the Year.
