Leslie Dowdall and Mike Hanrahan in concert
BALLINA Arts Centre will present a concert by Leslie Dowdall and Mike Hanrahan this evening.
Leslie Dowdall is the voice and songwriter behind the sound that was In Tua Nua, while Mike Hanrahan is the voice and songwriter of Stockton’s Wing.
Following her stint fronting legendary Irish band In Tua Nua, Leslie Dowdall’s solo career began in earnest with the release of No Guilt, No Guile in 1997. The album won high praise for its creativity and featured hit single ‘Wonderful Thing’.
Mike Hanrahan’s first solo recording, Someone Like You, also featured a timeless classic in ‘We Had it All’ - a song later recorded by Ronnie Drew, Eleanor Shanley and Mary Coughlan. Mike spent 14 years as a member of Stockton’s Wing and many years as producer, writer and guitarist with Ronnie Drew.
