New director for Knock Marriage Introductions

THE Parish Priest of Ballyhaunis, Fr. Stephen Farragher, has been appointed the new director of Knock Marriage Introductions (formerly the Knock Marriage Bureau).

The appointment was announced by the Archbishop of Tuam, Dr. Michael Neary, in the annual diocesan changes published earlier this week.

Fr. Stephen takes over the role as director of Knock Marriage Introductions from Canon Joe Cooney who retires having served for the past number of years in the position.

Despite the rise of online dating services, a sizeable number of people looking for love turn to the Knock matchmaking services each year.

Also locally in the diocese, Very Reverend Patrick Donnellan, P.P., Islandeady, is to retire. Reverend Chris Brennan, SMA, will become administrator in Islandeady.
