Tracey raises €5,500 for those living with MS in Mayo
THE South Mayo Branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society has received a massive boost thanks to the efforts of a strong supporter of the organisation.
Tracey Cannon raised €5,500 for the society by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro (19,341 feet) in Tanzania earlier this year.
She presented a cheque for the amount to officers of the branch at a ceremony at The Care Shop, Market Square, Castlebar, which proudly supports those living with MS in the county.
Tracey extended her thanks and appreciation to all who sponsored her climb.
She also praised those who wished her well, both online and in person, as well as all the customers and friends of her father Liam's Fruit & Veg Shop, Hopkins Road, Castlebar, and customers of The Care Shop, run by her uncle Donal on behalf of the South Mayo Branch of the MS Society.
“I was overwhelmed to have raised a total of €5,500,” she told The Connaught Telegraph.
The MS Society thanked Tracey for her outstanding contribution as well as all those who supported her fundraising climb.
