Mayo's first ever Pride Parade proves colourful affair
THE inaugural Mayo Pride Parade, held through the streets of Castlebar this afternoon, proved a really colourful affair. Â
Led by the cathaoirleach of Castlebar Municipal District, Councillor Martin McLoughlin, the participants marched from the Mall through Ellison Street, Market Square, Chapel Street, Tucker Street, Linenhall Street and Main Street before gathering at Market Square for entertainment and celebrations.
The Rainbow Flag was a very prominent feature of the event and members of the public applauded at different locations along the route.
The weather conditions was glorious and everybody involved expressed delight with its success.
The parade was coordinated by An Garda Siochana and members of the Castlebar Events Committee, led by Mick Baynes.
