Moran and Cluxton in GAA Player of the Year duel
MAYO'S Andy Moran is now joint 3/1 favourites for GAA Player of the Year after he continued his goalscoring exploits against Kerry on Saturday, resulting in BoyleSports slashing his odds from 25/1.
Dublin’s goalkeeper Stephen Cluxton has also shortened drastically to joint 3/1 favourite from 33/1, on the back of a stellar campaign and rumours he might retire if Dublin lift the Sam Maguire again.
Fellow Dub Con O’Callaghan, who looks to be a shoe in for Young Player of the Year, is now 6/1 from 16/1 after scoring 1-2 from play on Sunday against Tyrone. The Cuala clubman has been attracting the majority of support from punters.
Jack McCaffrey has also seen his price cut to 7/1 from 25/1 after a strong display in Croke Park yesterday which saw him win RTÉ Man of the Match.
Aoife Heffron, Spokeswoman for BoyleSports commented “The 2017 Player of the Year market, much like the All Ireland final is a Mayo v Dublin affair. Both Andy Moran and Stephen Cluxton are 3/1 favourites after dramatic cuts in prices off the back of impressive semi-final displays.”
She added “The liability however lies with Con O’Callaghan, who found the back of the net against Tyrone just four minutes into the match, as punters continue to latch onto his 6/1 odds and with many sitting on a pretty 25/1 bet having backed him at the beginning of August.”
