Legal eagles plead for ‘Justice for Mayo’
LEGAL eagles Pat O’Connor, William O’Connor and Paul Cunney, who are highly respected across the sporting spectrum, are putting their weight behind the green and red as the men from Mayo go in search of Sam Maguire.
The three solicitors, who are partners in P. O’Connor and Son in Swinford, believe it’s time that justice was done and the famous trophy came back to the shores of the Atlantic.
Pat O’Connor is a board member of Sport Ireland and Connacht Rugby, William O’Connor is the current president of Ballina Rugby Club, while Paul Cunney is a former Mayo senior footballer who won league and championship titles in both Mayo and Dublin.
Pat O’Connor believes the time has come for Mayo to finally end the drought and win the All-Ireland senior football title.
He said: “If there is any justice in sport then this fine Mayo team will win and we will all be celebrating.”
