Gardaí recover stolen machinery 

GARDAÍ have made a breakthrough in their search for a crime gang believed to be responsible for a spate of recent serious thefts in the region.

In a planned operation in the Knockmore area of north Mayo early yesterday (Monday), gardaí recovered a significant quantity of stolen machinery with an approximate value in the region of €45,000. Equipment recovered included trailers, ride-on lawnmowers and horse-boxes.

Two males were arrested and brought to Ballina Garda Station.

Ballina-based Garda Inspector Mandy Gaynor thanked members of the public for their assistance in their investigations.
