Concern raised over traffic-light gambling motorists at Castlebar junction
CONCERN has been raised over a health and safety issue caused by traffic-light gambling motorists at a pedestrian crossing at Ellison Street in Castlebar.
An angry parent has been in contact with The Connaught Telegraph to highlight the matter.
He explained: “Last Saturday I was crossing on the green man at Moran's Auctioneers when two cars, who had broken the red light coming from Mall turning right, nearly ran myself and my two sons over.
“This was the third time such an incident happened at same location. The problem needs to be highlighted.
“I'm sure it has happened to others and it's only a matter of time before some child gets knocked down.
“Unlike many other pedestrians I am now aware of motorists trying to pull a fast one at this junction and I am always looking left for these careless drivers. But if I was blind I wouldn't have this ability.”
