James Horan tipped to take over top Westport GAA role
SPECULATION is rife tonight that former Mayo boss James Horan is set to be named as manager of Westport GAA Club's senior team.
The position has been filled by Charlie Lambert on an interim basis after Damian Loftus, who led the club to its first All-Ireland IFC title last year, stepped down last summer. Mr. Lambert has since been appointed club chairman.
It is understood that James Horan has been in talks to take over the role and an announcement is reported to be imminent.
There is also speculation that Ballina Stephenites are set to appoint a high-profile manager while Claremorris GAA Club, Mayo SFC semi-finalists this year, is also on the lookout for a new manager.
