Death of Vincent Moran, father of All-Star Andy
2017 GAA Footballer of the Year Andy Moran is mourning the death of his father, Vincent.
Mr. Moran passed away at Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar yesterday after a lengthy illness.
A native of Fairymount, Castlerea, he has lived for most of his adult life in Ballaghaderreen.
A minute's silence was observed at today's Allianz National League match between Galway and Mayo at Pearse Stadium, Galway, as a mark of respect to the deceased.
He is survived by his wife Philomena, sons Vincent and Andrew, daughters Muriel and Eunice, brothers Tommy, Bernie, Gerard and Donal, sisters Maura and Ita, grandchildren Charlotte, Bláithín and Ollie, mother-in-law Teresa (Moloney), daughters-in-law Jennifer and Aileen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.
The remains will repose in the Sharkey Funeral Home, Ballaghaderrreen, on Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Removal from his residence on Tuesday to The Church of the Sacred Heart, Fairymount, arriving for Mass at 12 noon followed by interment in Kilcolman Cemetery.
