N5 closed at Swinford following two-vehicle collision

THE N5 at Swinford has been closed to traffic this evening following a two-vehicle collision near the Applegreen Service Station.

It has been reported within the last few minutes that the accident resulted in a fatality.

The emergency services are at the scene and traffic diversions have been put in place by An Garda Siochana.

It is expected it will be some time before the route reopens.
