Mayo and colleges matches among weather casualties

AS expected, the Mayo versus Kildare national league game (round 5), scheduled for Newbridge this Sunday, has fallen foul of the weather.

The GAA has confirmed that all Allianz National Football and Hurling League fixtures scheduled for this weekend have been postponed.

Round five of the football league will now be played on the weekend of March 10/11, with Mayo and Kildare set to meet on Sunday, March 11, while Mayo face Tyrone the following weekend on March 18 at MacHale Park, Castlebar, in round six.

Also postponed due to the weather is the Connaught colleges senior A football final between Rice College, Westport, and St. Attracta's of Tubbercurry, which was due to take place on Saturday.

That final will now go ahead in Tuam Stadium on Saturday week, March 10, at 12.30 p.m.
