Castlebar St. Patrick's Day Parade to be screened on Sky platform
A FACILITATION committee has put plans in place for the Castlebar St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday, March 17.
It will take place from McHale Road at the earlier time of 1.30 p.m. and all groups are asked to assemble one hour in advance.
It will follow the usual route: Station Road, Spencer Street, The Mall, Ellison Street, Market Square, Newtown, Chapel Street, Newline, New Antrim Street, Linenhall Street, Bridge Street and Market Street, where the reviewing stand will be located.
Strict parking restrictions will be in place along the route and members of the public are advised to cooperate fully with the stewards.
The committee, headed by Bernard Hughes, extends thanks to everybody who contributed to its recent church gate collection.
For the first time, highlights of this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade will be recorded for a special programme for The Irish at Home & Abroad T.V show, broadcast on Sky channel 212 and Freesat 161 every Thursday at 6 p.m. and also repeated on Saturdays at 8 p.m..
This show is presented by Castlebarman Henry McGlade.
