Marathon run in memory of Therese
A CASTLEBAR man who ran the Dublin City Marathon in memory of his sister has raised almost €3,000 for MS Ireland.
John Deacy from Turlough Road, Castlebar, is pictured here presenting a cheque to representatives of the South Mayo branch of the MS Society of Ireland.
John chose to run the marathon last October in memory of his sister, Therese, who lived with Multiple Sclerosis for 20 years.
The branch is extremely grateful for John’s contribution to their fund which helps and supports people living with MS locally.
John completed the marathon in an excellent time of 3 hours, 59 minutes and 25 seconds.
