Man dies in west Mayo accident

A MAN in his 50s has died following a road accident in Mayo earlier today.

The accident occurred between Mulranny and Newport, at Tiernaur, when the car he was driving hit a trailer that was stationary.

The road is closed and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
