Bonniconlon Rose Sarah hails from Easkey

MAYO ROSE CONTESTANT NO. 10: SARAH CURLEY, BONNICONLON

 

Sarah Curley is 21-years-old and is a proud Sligo woman from Easkey

A final year student in Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology on the main Galway campus. Sarah is studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Hotel Management, which is a Level 8, Honours Degree.

Said Sarah: “I have a keen interest and a strong passion in Ladies Gaelic football. I am a current member of the local Ladies football team at home called Eoghan Rua. I have been playing football since the age of10.

“I also like singing and jiving. Country music and Midwest Radio were always on in our household while I was growing up.

"During transition year in school, I started attending social dancing with my father and love it ever since. It is a great way of meeting new people, young and old, and a way of keeping fit.

“In August 2017, I was crowned the Bonniconlon Rose at the 65th Agricultural Show. I was delighted to accept the John James Greavy Memorial Cup from the Greavy family. I am honoured to represent the parish and the people of Bonniconlon as their selected Rose.

“I am sponsored by The Ocean Sands Hotel in Enniscrone in Co. Sligo where I have worked for the past six years."
