New manufacturing company officially opens in Newport

THE Minister for Rural and Community Development,Michael Ring, has today officially opened the new Taylor Mitchell & Co. Boutique Manufacturing Company in Newport.

This company specialises in the production of Irish made wool dog beds.

Minister Ring said: “Marketed under the Sheepish Dog brand, the dog beds are designed and hand-crafted in Newport from premium quality wool fabrics woven by a family owned Irish mill.

“The beds are filled with sheep wool from the owners flock as well as fleece purchased from local farmers. The raw wool is sorted, cleaned and processed in their facility located just outside Newport.

“I am delighted to see a new manufacturing company such as this being opened locally and creating jobs here in Newport. The quality of the product being made here is absolutely excellent.

“This is a welcome announcement for Newport. I wish Taylor Mitchell & Company all the very best in this new venture.”
