Passing of widely popular Westport personality
THE death has taken place of Joe Moran, Sheeaune, and late of The Quay, Westport.
One of the town's best known and most popular personalities, he is sadly missed by his wife Maria, sons Keelan, Patrick, Josh and Daniel, father Joe Joe, brothers Peter and Mark, sister Keveen, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.
As a mark of respect, the Mayo Super League clash between Westport United and Castlebar Celtic scheduled for Celtic Park, Castlebar, tomorrow afternoon has been postponed.
Joe was closely associated with the club throughout his life and won a Connaught Cup medal with United in 1987.
A former member of the staff of Allergan, news of his passing has evoked a huge sense of loss in the community.
His remains will be reposing at his residence tomorrow (Sunday) from 3 until 7 p.m.
Requiem Mass takes place at St. Mary's Church, Westport, on Monday at 11 a.m. with burial afterwards in Aughavale Cemetery.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
