Phone scam fraudsters are 'very deceptive' - concerned citizen
A CONCERNED Mayo citizen has asked The Connaught Telegraph to highlight the latest call scam racket that is rampant throughout the region.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, elaborated: “I had a scam call at 11.35 a.m. today on my landline.
“This was a recorded female voice telling me my broadband and phone would be cut off within 24 hours because my system was being hacked.
“The voice told me to press button 1 to connect to an engineer. I get these type of scam calls frequently but normally they seem to come from the other side of the world.
“Now they have changed their methods by using a semi automated system and a recorded female voice, which is very deceptive.
“The members of the need to be informed about this.”
