Gardaí focus on Castlebar shoplifting problem is yielding results

THE newly-launched Castlebar Business Watch is continuing to yield results in clamping down on town centre crime.

The networking initiative, run in association with An Garda Siochana in the county town, went into action today when a local business reported a shoplifting offence.

Within two hours the gardaí had tracked down offenders and returned the stolen items to the business premises.

The owner of the shop has paid tribute to the gardaí for their swift action.
