Three Mayo firms shortlisted for Fleet Transport Awards
Ballinrobe, Castlebar and Westport based companies have been shortlisted for the final phase of adjudication for the 12th annual Fleet Transport Awards 2019.
Food sales and distributor Costello & McDermott from Ballinrobe are once again among the finalists in the Regional Transport Operator of the Year, having won this category last year.
Its Transport Manager, Sean Higgins, has also been nominated for Fleet/Transport Manager of the Year.
New entrant McGrath Waste Management, Castlebar, has been selected also in the Regional Transport Operator classification while family member and company director Sinead McGrath was called for interview in the Women in Transport category.
Another former award winner, Keith McDermott from MTS Haulage, Westport, is in contention for the owner Driver Haulier of the Year prize.
"Established in 2006, the annual Fleet Transport Awards have become a must-attend event for anybody and everybody working in the road haulage and transport sectors.
"Last year just over one thousand people attended the event at the Citywest Hotel, Dublin, to witness the best in the industry honoured for their endeavours, while availing of an unequalled opportunity to network and liaise with colleagues,” explained Jarlath Sweeney, Group Editor, Fleet Transport.
“Well done to the Mayo companies on reaching the final phase which includes a company profile presentation and interviews before the expert adjudication panel select the prize-winners.”
