New Mayo GAA jersey is officially launched

Mayo GAA, in partnership with Intersport Elverys and O’Neills, has today unveiled the brand new Mayo GAA home jersey which will be worn by Mayo’s intercounty footballers and hurlers for the 2019 season.

The jersey combines a nostalgic green twist with a modern design linking back to classic Mayo kits over the past three decades.

The jersey will incorporate the Intersport Elverys brand for the second time and reflects Ireland’s longest standing sport retailer, Elverys, partnering with the world’s leading sports retailer, Intersport, with 5,500 stores in more than 40 countries including 59 stores on the island of Ireland.

Speaking about the launch, Mike Connolly, chairman Mayo GAA said “As we launch our new jersey for 2019 our thoughts turn to new beginnings and new opportunities.

“We are delighted to be once working again with one of Mayo's biggest local companies Intersport Elverys on our jersey launch. Many players dream of pulling on the famous green and red jersey and for some it will become a reality in 2019.

“No matter where you go in the world the green and red is always on show and I have no doubt as we begin work on the 2019 season this new jersey will be worn by both young and old in County Mayo and beyond.”

Commenting on the jersey reveal Patrick Rowland, CEO of Intersport Elverys, said “Intersport Elverys, Mayo GAA, and O’Neills have a long and proud association which dates back over 25 years. Our roots are deeply embedded in Mayo and it is a privilege to once again present a new kit with O’Neills which reflects on the past whilst looking to the future.

“We remain behind the county’s teams as they develop and strive toward their aspirations in the coming season. We also applaud the Mayo fans for their enduring support and would like to thank them for their loyalty.”

The Mayo GAA 2019 home jersey will be available to pre-order exclusively on Elverys.ie from today Friday September 28, and ONeills.com from Monday, October 1.
