Mayo social welfare recipients hit by banking issue

MAYO social welfare recipients got a shock this morning when trying to access their payments through their banks.

The money had not been transferred into their accounts as normal every Tuesday due to a systems issue affecting all major banks.

Efforts are taking place to restore a problem as swiftly as possible due to the inconvenience caused in many cases.
