Kian Neary from Belmullet has been selected among the latest group of apprentices for Gas Networks Ireland.
Kian joins six other successful applicants from around Ireland who have been selected for the four year programme, starting this week in Dublin.

On completion of the Apprenticeship Programme, the successful trainees will be awarded a Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft. This is recognised nationally and internationally as the requirement for craftsperson status.
Brian Flynn, gas technical competency training manager, Gas Networks Ireland, said: “We are delighted to welcome Kian and the six other new recruits to the Gas Networks Ireland apprenticeship programme.
“The programme is extremely important to us, as it allows us to share our knowledge and experience with a new group of colleagues who are driven, ambitious and want to play an important role in Ireland’s energy future. We are thrilled to have someone of Kian’s calibre on board and we look forward to working with him into the future.”
Commenting on Gas Networks Ireland apprenticeship programme, Kian Neary said: “I’ve always been a very active person with a practical approach to learning, and the apprenticeship programme with Gas Networks Ireland really appealed to me as a way to train and upskill.
