Image unveiled of Mayo's new festive feature

IMAGES have been released tonight of the eye-catching feature that will dominate the Castlebar skyline this Christmas.

The promoter of Mayo On Ice, which takes place at the Mall in the county town from November 30 to January 4, said the attraction, Star Flyer, will help drive visitor numbers beyond last year's total of 25,000 paying customers.

Brian McGee of Carousel Ireland Limited, Killarney, said he expected the 40ft. structure will put Castlebar on the Christmas map like never before.

"We believe it will attract visitors from other counties from throughout the western and north western region," he told The Connaught Telegraph.
