Two men fatally injured in Mayo car accident

TWO men in their 20s have died following a single vehicle accident in Ballina last night.

The clash occurred at Killala Road in the town shortly after 11 p.m.

One occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene while two others were removed by ambulance to Mayo University Hospital where one of them died later from injuries sustained.

The third man remains in a serious condition at the Castlebar hospital.

The road has been closed for forensic examination and diversions are in place.
