Bogus garda at large in Mayo

A BOGUS garda is at large in Mayo.

The fraudster was operating in the Claremorris area today, making house-to-house calls.

However, some householders became suspicious and made a complaint to An Garda Siochana.

An alert has since been issued to the public never to open their door to a person purporting to be a garda officer without requesting valid identification and checking it.
