Former Mayo independent candidate joins Peadar Tòibìn's party
A FORMER Mayo general election candidate has announced he is joining Deputy Peadar Tòibìn's new political party.
Martin Daly, who contested the 2011 general election, told Community Radio Castlebar (CRCfm) this evening of his decision.
He revealed he was impressed by the honesty and objectives of the Meath TD who left the Sinn Fèin party last year.
Mr. Daly said the initial plan, as far as Mayo is concerned, is to identify and run candidates in each of the six municipal districts in next May's local elections.
"We know there is a challenging road ahead of us but it is a challenge to which we are looking forward," he told presenter Aidan Crowley on his popular Grapevine programme.
