Mayo athlete sets new world record in Japan
A MAYO athlete has set a new world record in her sport.
Belmullet native Sinead Diver, who represents Australia where she now resides, broke her own record for half-marathons run by women over 40.
She did so in Tokyo yesterday when she set a new record of 1:08:58 to cut 25 seconds off her previous record.
Sinead (41) also finished in third place in the Tokyo Half Marathon to complete a memorable day.
