Mayo victim of fatal car accident in Melbourne is named
A YOUNG Mayo woman killed in a car crash in Australia has been named as Amy Gill (23), Coolaght, Kiltimagh.
She was fatally injured in the two-car collision on Wednesday in Melbourne.
The deceased had moved to Melbourne in January and had just started working on a farm last week.
Tributes have flooded in from friends and family on social media, who said the 23-year-old will be “dearly missed.”
"Thank you for all the memories and laughs Amy. Always a friend, forever our angel,” one friend wrote.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to the family, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.
It is understood a second young woman from Mayo was injured in the crash and is receiving medical treatment.
