Storm Erik causes electricity outage in Carrowholly

UP to 290 homes in the community of Carrowholly in Westport have been left without a power supply tonight.

The impact of Storm Erik, which has blown up again in recent hours, caused a fault around 9 p.m.

According to ESB Networks, the supply is due to be restored before 1 a.m.

Staff of the company have also been dealing with a fault in Charlestown which left over 90 customers without electricity tonight.
