Support for FG holds at 30% despite hospital saga

PUBLIC support for Fine Gael remains at 30%, according to the latest.

That suggests, surprisingly, that the controversy over the national children's hospital overruns and the nurses strike did not have an impact.

Conducted for the Sunday Times, it found support for Fine Fail at 28%, Sinn Fein on 8%, Labour on 5% and others on 2%.

The fact the findings show little change may point to a deep sense of apathy by the public in the political system.
