O'Connor in fitness battle ahead of Galway clash
MAYO ace Diarmuid O'Connor is facing a battle to be fit for next Saturday's Allianz National League clash against Galway at Elverys MacHale Park, Castlebar.
The Ballintubber ace missed yesterday's defeat to Dublin at Croke Park with a reported thigh strain.
The recovery progress of talented midfielder, who has suffered with hamstring injuries in recent years, is expected to be further assessed when the squad meets for training on Tuesday.
In his absence, Breaffy's Matthew Ruane and Donal Vaughan of Castlebar Mitchels formed Mayo's midfield partnership against Dublin.
Full-back Ger Cafferkey is also a doubt after picking up an injury during the Croke Park encounter.
