Status Orange wind warning issued for Mayo

A STATUS Orange wind warning has been issued for Mayo as Storm Gareth approaches.

The warning is valid from 12 noon tomorrow until 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

Westerly winds will reach mean speeds of between 65 to 75km/h and dangerous gusts reaching between 110 to 130km/h.

There is a risk of coastal flooding due to high seas.
