Lough Mask search for missing angler hampered by bad weather

THE search for an angler missing on Lough Mask since Friday has been stood down today due to poor weather conditions.

Gardai have confirmed that the search for 78-year-old Sean Maloney, Ballinrobe, resumed for a number of hours but was called off before lunchtime because of the deteriorating weather.

Mr. Maloney boat was found during the search on Saturday.

Garda sub-aqua divers had been assisted in the search by members of the Grainne Uaile Sub Aqua Club, Corrib/Mask Search and Rescue and other volunteers.

The search will resume tomorrow if weather conditions allow.

Great credit is due to everyone who has been involved in the search to date.
