No approval for Castlebar tree felling, council confirms

ELECTED members of Castlebar Municipal District have been informed that contractors cut trees without consent or the approval of the council at Lannagh Road in the town last week.

Ann Sweeney, senior roads engineer, instructed them to stop works and come back to her with a plan to include remedial works.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service has been informed and it is conducting its own investigation.
