Mayo motorists warned over targetting of parked cars

AN Garda Siochana has issued a warning to motorists following reports of catalytic converters being stolen from vehicles.

A catalytic converter is an emissions control device attached to the underbody of a vehicle.

All models cars are being targeted, most notably the Toyota Prius.

A garda spokesperson said motorists should take steps to ensure the security of their cars when they are parked overnight.
