Death of widely popular Castlebar personality
THE death has taken place suddenly at his residence of Gerry Sheil, Cois Lough, Castlebar, and late of Corish Park, Wexford.
The deceased, who had a long association with Senator Windows, was very popular and respected in local business and sporting circles.
He was a member of the Castlebar Celtic squad that won the Connaught Senior League title in the 1988/89 season.
Gerry was also a member of Castlebar Golf Club and Castlebar Tennis Club as well as having a deep interest in all sports. He was a great participant and supporter of many charity events over the years.
News of his passing has cast a dark shadow over a community in which he was held in such high regard due to his warm and friendly personality.
He is very deeply regretted by his former wife Siobhan, sons Enda, Killian and Gerry Jnr, sister Marion (O'Connor), Peppards Castle, Ballygarrett, Gorey, Co. Wexford, girlfriend Brenda, brother-in-law Dony (O'Connor), sister-in-law Carmel (Sheil), nieces, nephews, grandnieces, cousins, friends and neighbours, to whom sympathy is tendered,
His remains will be reposing at the Coady Funeral Home, Linenhall Street, Castlebar, on Thursday evening from 5.30 p.m.with removal at 7.30 p.m. to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Requiem Mass takes place on Friday morning at 11 a.m. with burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
