Councillor acts swiftly to resolve Claremorris road danger

RESIDENTS of a housing estate in Claremorris have praised a local councillor for his swift action in resolving a road danger in their midst.

A manhole on a busy roadway at Lisbaun became dislodged and presented a health and safety threat to passing motorists.

There was particular concern that it would be very dangerous if it was left in that condition after dark.

A call to local Councillor Tom Connolly resulted in the problem being addressed within ten minutes.

A resident stated: "The fact the councillor himself turned up to the scene at such short notice is worthy of praise."
