Submissions sought for primary care centre in Bangor Erris

AN advertisement has been published seeking submissions for the provision of a primary care centre in Bangor Erris.

The HSE had carried out a needs assessment which found that Bangor Erris is a suitable location for the development of a primary care facility to most effectively deliver primary care services to the local community.

The HSE Estates division is now seeking submissions from individuals/companies who are developing or are planning to develop health facilities which would facilitate the delivery of primary health care in conjunction with local General Practitioners in a number of areas, including Bangor Erris.

Welcoming the news, Minister Michael Ring said: “The advertisement, as published in the national media recently, indicates that the Department of Health is committed to making sure that the people of Bangor Erris can get the care they need as close to home as possible and have access to a greater range of health and social care services within their community.

“Primary care centres deliver high quality, integrated care to people in their own communities.”
