€1.92 million approved for social housing in Castlebar

THE Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government has granted approval in principle for a social housing capital turnkey development in Heathervale, Castlebar.

It was issued to the Mayo County Council for nine homes, consisting of three-bed, two storey houses under the Local Authority Housing Construction Programme, Rebuilding Ireland.

The provisional budget approval for the project is €1,920,000.

Welcoming the announcement, local Fine Gael general election candidate Alan Dillon said:  “It will provide much needed housing in the Castlebar area.”
