Warning issued to Mayo businesses over fake €20 notes

A WARNING has been issued to businesses across Mayo today over fake €20 notes in circulation.

Gardai have been notified of attempts to pass the notes at retail outlets in Castlebar this afternoon.

Those with suspicions are urged to conduct close ckecks of the notes.

In cases where counterfeit notes are tendered, An Garda Siochana should by immediately contacted.

A fake €50 notes scam has also been highlighted in recent weeks.
