Mayo loses two of its Blue Flag beaches

MAYO has lost two of its Blue Flag beaches, An Taisce has announced.

Bertra in Westport and the Golden Strand, Dugort, Achill, lost their status for 2019 after failing to meet water quality standards.

However, there is still good news for Mayo as Carrowmore, Clare Island, Dooega, Elly Bay, Keel, Keem Bay, Mullaghroe, Mulranny, the Silver Strand, Dugort, and Ross, Killala, have retained their blue flags.
