Mayo auctioneer secures gold standard qualification

MAYO auctioneer Kevin Beirne has attained the gold standard qualification for commercial and residential valuers.

Kevin, who has been operating a very successful business at Tucker Street in Castlebar since 2004, secured the Recognised European Valuer (REV) Qualification after attending the 2019 course run by the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers in Dublin.

The 'Blue Book' qualification, recognised by central banks, became the bible for valuation standards across Europe.

Through it valuers demonstrate their qualifications and professionalism to their clients.

In 2014, the European Central Bank endorsed the Blue Book's primacy over all other valuation standards.

The qualification builds on the reputation and standard of work that Mr. Beirne and his staff have built up and developed over thepast 15  years.

“This qualification is fantastic because it has brought the standard of estate agencies in Ireland to a whole new level,” he stated.

Mr. Beirne is delighted with a new development on his books at College View, Westport Road, Castlebar.

“It's a whole new concept in houses,” he explained.

“They are aerated houses that are a third of the cost to heat when compared to ordinary houses with an open fire and central heating.

“It's all electricty and underground heating, a marvellous and very effective concept.”
